BUYER: SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Procure assigned electronic commodities and manage the suppliers' performance for on-time deliveries and quality. Review Material Requirement Plan (MRP), Floor Stock, and Purchasing Requisitions. Confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Review cost and delivery and authorizes purchase within pre-approved dollar limits. Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Works with suppliers regarding defective or unacceptable goods or services. Works with quality department to develop corrective actions. Work closely with Finance on invoice discrepancies, credit problems, establishing part costs, and annually reviewing of standard cost and submits changes for the upcoming year. Approves invoices for payment. Perform expediting duties, past due orders, and confirms upcoming deliveries REQUIREMENTS: Associate Degree in Materials Management, Business, Supply Chain Management, or Operation Management and five years of recent purchasing experience; or seven years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Comprehensive knowledge of material management and procurement function. Exceptional PC skills, including proficiency with Excel, Word and MRP management systems.
