December 2000 - Exergen's IRt/cTM.2G for Medical Diagnostic Equipment Provides Low-Cost, Accurate Control of Fluid Temperature Exergen Corporation, a leading manufacturer of infrared temperature sensors, presents its IRt/c .2G for the medical industry.  Since sterility and prevention of contamination are extremely important for clinical diagnostics applications that involve blood samples and other fluids, the IRt/c .2G is ideal because it is a non-contact sensor and will not contaminate the samples.  Exergen's sensors for medical diagnostic equipment are small, low cost and interface easily with standard thermocouple, closed-loop control circuitry.  The IRt/c .2G is designed and calibrated to be highly accurate at 98°F (37°F), important for processes where blood samples and fluids must be heated to body temperature for precise diagnosis.  Exergen's IRt/c .2G is equipped with a hard pure germanium crystal lens that withstands repeated cleaning and its hermetically sealed stainless steel packaging permits it to be gas sterilized.
