Unique to thermometry, the LTX infrared ear thermometer is available in both standard and pediatric models, similar in all ways except for the design of the ear probe. The standard model has a rounded stainless steel probe tip with a diameter of 12mm, with a recommended age range of three years and up. The Pedi-Q has a rounded probe tip with a diameter of 8mm, covered with a high impact polymer to eliminate cold sensitivity, and is specifically sized for use on infant and toddlers, but can be confidently used on all pediatric patients.
Both models have built-in pulse timers, can be cleaned with any common disinfectant including bleach, and can even be gas or plasma sterilized. |
